Art Direction, Branding

Partners Ilana and Rukshida were launching a new Indian takeout venture in Western MA and needed a brand identity. They had a clear vision: they wanted to use a tiffin (Indian lunch box) as the main source of visual inspiration, along with a loose color palette. From there, we got to work.

After several rounds of rough sketches, eliminations, and extensive color exploration, we landed on the final design. One of their requests was to incorporate the handwritten font from their original logo concept. Since it was a hand-lettered design, I had to create a custom font to match. It had been a long time since I worked on font creation, so it was a great opportunity to dust off those skills and dive back into the process of exploring font tools.
