I set out to create a series of LEGO Speed Champions concept sets inspired by vehicles from some of my favorite anime, using the project as an opportunity to explore both 3D form and vector-based graphic design.
The first build features the iconic Initial D AE86. I’ve always been drawn to its clean, understated design and the way the manga and anime elevated it into a cultural icon. Since I couldn’t find any existing MOCs that matched my vision, I developed my own version, focusing on proportions, build stability, and recognizable detailing. To complete the concept, I designed supporting elements including a Takumi Fujiwara minifigure, a custom sticker sheet, and packaging artwork to visualize how the set could appear at retail.
For the second concept, I reimagined Kaneda’s motorcycle from Akira. Building on an existing MOC as a foundation, I refined the model to better integrate the anime’s signature decals and achieve a more accurate silhouette. As with the AE86, I designed a Kaneda minifigure, accompanying sticker sheet, and packaging mockup to present a cohesive, collectible-style set.
