It all started with a simple truth: I hate posing for photos. Smiling on command? No thanks. But I still wanted to show up in pictures from my travels. So instead of grinning awkwardly, I started playing dead in them. Face-down, zero expression, maximum drama. I took a few dead pics with friends back in the day, and then just kept doing it when I went on trips. Then some friends joined in on the fun(?). This all began around 2003, but took an unplanned nap during the "planking" epidemic (which was lame and made me miss out on so many good dead photos 😄😭). But now DeadBryan has been resurrected and rebranded as the DeadFriends Travel Club.
It's been a while since I built a site from scratch, so while it has been a blast to revive this project, it's also been fun to remember/relearn/learn html, js, css, etc. It's also been fun to explore more illustration, some video, and audio work. This has been a fun playground for experimentation and learning.
