Pandora wanted to create a pin to hand out at SXSW, with the goal of promoting their newly rebranded "P" to the world. Enamel pins were a big trend at the time, and I had been experimenting with "moving" pins, so I saw this as the perfect opportunity to merge the two ideas.

For Pandora x SXSW, I immediately thought of a turntable. I flipped the logo to resemble a turntable, drawing inspiration from the Technic 1200. The "window" of the P became the turntable, with the "P" itself acting as the record. While the standard size for pins was 1", I wanted the pin to stand out, especially since it would be animated, so I decided to make it slightly larger.

After finalizing the design, I created schematic drawings and reached out to a pin manufacturer I had previously worked with. I sent over the designs, including Pantone colors, dimensions, and an animated gif to clarify how the pin should move. From there, the process was straightforward, and the final product turned out just as I envisioned.
